Teaching Greek today
The teaching
Teaching Greek can begin with something very simple: a text, a story, a thought worth discussing.
In my lessons, I use literary and historical texts not only to explore the language, but also to gain a deeper understanding of Greek culture and its traditions. Through these texts, students encounter different historical periods, ways of thinking, values, questions, and experiences, and discover how the Greek language forms part of a cultural tradition that has developed and endured across the centuries.
The texts
We read texts that are worth reading for their own sake: because they can move us, raise questions, bring joy, offer inspiration, or open up new ways of seeing the world. At the same time, we explore how the language works, gradually developing vocabulary, grammar, syntax, and the ability to express ourselves in speech and writing.
The target
I want my students to go beyond simply understanding a text: to be able to tell stories, make comparisons, explain ideas, support their opinions, and express their thoughts with greater precision.
My aim is for Greek to become more than simply a language my students know: a language through which they can read, think, discuss ideas, and find their own voice.

Does your child speak Greek?
Does your child speak Greek but find reading, writing, or expressing more complex thoughts in Greek challenging?
I offer online Greek lessons for teenagers aged 13–17 who are growing up abroad and wish to develop their language skills in a more meaningful and structured way.
We work with literary and historical texts, stories, and topics that genuinely engage young people, with an emphasis on vocabulary, grammar, reading, and written and spoken expression.
The aim is not simply to use the language correctly, but to develop the ability to read, think, discuss, and express ideas in Greek.
Lessons are offered individually or in small groups and are tailored to each student’s level and needs.
